Dr. Rick Olson
Dr. Olson is a graduate of Oregon High School. He attended UW Platteville for undergraduate and graduate studies in the school of Biological Sciences. Dr. Olson earned his Doctorate of Optometry from The New England of Optometry. He loves Optometry and the satisfaction of helping people and developing lasting relationships. His philosophy has always been to treat his staff and patients like family, perform at the best of his ability and let them know that he cares. Dr. Olson is a member of WOA and AOA.
When he’s not working he enjoys golf, traveling, coaching basketball and spending time with his 2 grandchildren. He has been coaching grade school, high school and college basketball for both girls and boys for 23 years, and is an avid Badger sports fan. Dr. Olson will be celebrating 50 years of marriage to his wife Mary next year!
Dr. Angie Olson
Dr. Angela Olson attended UW Madison for undergraduate studies. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry from The New England College of Optometry. Dr. Olson has been practicing in the Madison and Waupun area since earning her degree. In January 2008, she opened Olson Eye Care in Madison and also acquired the practice of Dr. Dean Lenz in Waupun. She enjoys managing pre and post-op Lasik and Cataract patients, contact lens fittings and working with patients to maintain a lifetime of healthy vision. Dr. Olson is a member of WOA and AOA,
In her free time, Dr. Olson enjoys spending time with her family, Badger sports, golf and traveling.
Dr. Deanne Funkhouser
Dr. Deanne Funkhouser is excited to be a part of the team of Optometrists at Olson Eye Care. She has been practicing Optometry in Madison since 1987. Dr. Funkhouser is very dedicated to her patients an strives to deliver excellent eye care. She listens to her patients and understands the importance of helping them to maintain healthy eyes and their best vision possible. She enjoys fitting all modalities of contact lenses including rigid gas permeable and specialty lenses.
Dr. Funkhouser received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University and Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University. She has a passion for nutrition and received her Health Coaching Certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and is a member of the Ocular Nutrition Society, AOA and WOA.In her free time, Dr. Funkhouser loves kayaking, biking, dancing, cooking, listening to live music and traveling the world with her husband, Dave.
Dr. Jessamyn Kovacs
Dr. Jessamyn Kovacs grew up in Mercer, Wisconsin. She attended UW Stevens Point, then received her nursing degree from the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. Dr. Kovacs continued her education at Western University of Health Sciences College of Optometry, where she received her Doctorate of Optometry. She has been practicing in the Madison area since earning her doctorate in 2015 and is a member of WOA and AOA.
Dr. Kovacs resides in Madison with her husband and their son. Her interests include reading murder mystery novels, spending time with family in Northern WI, and attending Packer and Badger Football games.
